Escritoras Ocultas

A podcast that brings to light the stories of the women ignored by history, whose contributions were essential to Colombia’s art scene in the mid-20th-century.

Role: Sound Editor

The core challenge of this podcast was balancing two distinct vocal styles: a scripted narration and a spontaneous one.

I had to ensure the scripted narration had a fluid flow. This included removing microphone bumps, mouth noises and stutters. I used Time Compression Expansion (TCE) to correct word endings and pacing without affecting pitch. On the other hand, for the conversational segments, I opted for a more naturalistic approach. While I eliminated unwanted noises and distracting pauses, I preserved natural breaths and subtle vocal fillers.

Besides editing the dialogue, I did a little bit of sound design to prevent listener fatigue during long narrative sections. This approach added a layer of immersion, keeping the storytelling dynamic and engaging.
